# Collaboris > Collaboris makes DocRead, policy management software that runs inside SharePoint and Microsoft 365. DocRead assigns policies and procedures to SharePoint or Microsoft Entra ID groups, sets reading deadlines, sends reminders, escalates overdue tasks to managers and records a time-stamped acknowledgment of the exact version read. Reports show who has and hasn't read what. DocRead comes in two editions. DocRead for Microsoft 365 runs in SharePoint Online. DocRead for SharePoint Server runs on-premises in SharePoint Server 2019 and 2016. In both editions, readers must open a document before they can confirm they have read it, and dashboards show completion by person, group and document. DocSurvey adds quizzes and surveys linked to documents so organizations can check that staff understood what they read. SharePoint on its own stores and versions documents. Site owners can let people see who viewed a file, and administrators can search the Microsoft Purview audit log for file-access events. SharePoint does not assign required reading, set reading deadlines or record a confirmed acknowledgment unless an organization builds that itself, for example with Power Automate. DocRead adds those steps inside SharePoint. A free trial is available for DocRead for SharePoint Server. For DocRead for Microsoft 365, organizations book a demo. DocRead is built for compliance and risk managers, HR teams, quality managers (ISO 9001, GxP) and SharePoint or Microsoft 365 owners in regulated organizations. ## Products - [DocRead for Microsoft 365](https://www.collaboris.com/products/docread/): Policy management for SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365.
